Challenge

Insertion
The aim of the Table de Cana is to help people furthest from employment to regain their self-confidence and get back into the world of work as well as to train skilled people in the agri-food trades and thus help solve the sector's recruitment problem.

Solution

The Table de Cana project involves setting up a catering business with people on integration schemes. It will work mainly with people who have been out of work for at least a year. A personalized pathway within the company will enable them to train in the culinary professions while building a coherent professional project corresponding to their expectations.

La Table de Cana, a little history... and numbers!
La Table de Cana, a little history... and numbers!
La Table de Cana is a national network of 9 work-integration companies spread across France. These companies are all independent of each other. Most have been in existence for over 15 years, with the first one opening its doors in 1985 in Antony on the initiative of a Jesuit priest who wanted to help the homeless back into stable, rewarding employment.

Thanks to you and your support, La Table de Cana Valence was able to open its doors this year! We currently employ 1 manager on a permanent contract and two people on work integration schemes. But this is just the beginning! Thanks to you, our other supporters and our customers, we plan to operate with 7 to 8 people on work-integration schemes. Eventually, this will mean around ten people a year will be trained in the kitchen trades and will be able to find work again!

This great project is still in its infancy! And to make it work, we still need your help! Thank you for all the help you've already given us.

A table !
La Table de Cana Valence served its first sit-down meal last week! A great experience for our employees in integration who experienced the fire and the stress of the heat stroke. What a joy to see a tear of pride on their faces when the whole room applauded them at the end of the meal! Cream of white asparagus, green asparagus and parmesan potato chips for starters, Fillet of sea bream with vanilla sauce and seasonal vegetables, and a pistachio cream Financier to finish off the meal. We'll let you be the judge!

Recent result

The La Table de Cana network has an average positive exit rate of 65%. Positive exits are defined as all people who, within 4 months of their stay at La Table de Cana, find either a permanent contract, a fixed-term contract of more than 6 months, or training that corresponds to their professional project.

Goal

The ultimate goal is to employ 7 people in full-time integration. With these people staying for an average of 14 months, this will represent around ten people a year who will leave La Table de Cana having regained their self-confidence and being able to find a job again.

The money will be used for

The money will be used to get the business up and running, either by buying equipment or by helping to pay the first salaries of people in integration.

For example, with a €100 donation, you can help them finance one of the following
- two days' salary (state aid deducted) for a person in training;
- small kitchen equipment (knives, pots, pans, etc.);
- two complete sets of work clothes.
